I am one of three co-founders of Academy and came in contact with the idea when I worked as a Consultant Manager within IT at Academic Work back in 2015. Since the talent shortage within IT affected me in my job and also my clients possibility to grow, it was frustrating to not always find the competence we we’re looking for. When we, at Academic Work, started talking about a solution to this problem, consisting of boot camp trainings, with an initial recruitment process where we were looking for potential, rather than a specific background I was convinced that this was going to be a success. And I definitely wanted to be part of realizing it.
For me it is the combination of solving a huge society problem, challenge the education system while at the same time be able to help both candidates and companies to grow. Since we can see people grow in only 12 weeks it’s really a fantastic environment to be a part of.
We will enter more business areas which we are looking forward to. Looking in to the future, say in 10 years from now, we look forward to seeing Accelerated Learning and intense, shorter trainings being even more of a given choice for changing or accelerate your career. I also think we will see more of so called re-skilling program, meaning companies who has certain internal candidates that they want to move from one position to another, where new competence is needed to make such a transition. A lot can happen since we work in an area where the lack of competence is huge and the digital world changes in an extremely fast pace!
